CWG 2018 Weightlifter Sanjita Chanu Wins Gold Gold Coast Live updates Commonwealth Games :
On the 2nd day of Common wealth games Indian Weightlifter Sanjita Chanu secured India’s second gold medal after lifting 192 kg (84 kg in snatch and 108 kg in clean and jerk) in 53 category. Sanjita also made a new record by lifting 81 kg weight in 1st sttempt as well 84 kg weight in 2nd Attempt.
In third attempt she unsuccessfully attempt 112 kg weight but in her second attempt of 108 kg was successfully done and this was enough to secure the gold medal.
With this record and gold se became the 2nd Indian after Sanamacha Chanu in 53 kg category of Weightlifting and she is now 2nd Indian woman weightlifter after Kunjarani Devi to win gold
Sanjita was the star at the opening day of CWG 2014 games in Glasgow women’s 48kg category, she was only 20 years old when she won the 1st Gold medal in games.
Much like Mirabai Chanu in the Gold Coast, Sanjita was the star of the opening day of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Competing in the women’s 48kg category then, she was only 20 -years old when she won India’s first gold of the Games.
