The country’s second largest software services firm has also ramped up its hiring process in the US and European markets as it looks to tap opportunities and tide over visa- related issues.
“…we continue to recruit. This year that just concluded we had a net addition of 6,000 and we expect similar kind of additions over the next 1 or 2 years, depending on the kind of growth you see in the market,” Infosys interim-CEO and MD U.B. Pravin Rao said at an investor meet last week.
At the end of June 2017, the Infosys had a total of 198,553 employees worldwide on its payroll. It did not provide a company-wise employment headcount.
During the last few months, 8,645 new professionals joined Infosys’s rank at the gross level, but its overall headcount fell short by 1,811 people. Interim Infosys CEO Rao said that only 20-30% of the million plus annual engineering graduates are quality talent. “[This is the number that] we and our competitors focus on…It is a question of doing more with less, how can one be more productive,” he added.
Despite having a layoff in the IT sector of India, Infosys has announced to gear up its recruitment in the foreign countries, which had led many to believe that it would affect the company’s workforce in India. Infosys said that it prefers a healthy mix of domestic and International workers, and is currently setting up innovation hubs in the US.
Since the Infosys is the second biggest IT Company of India after TCS so the organisation will choose the most talented students.
