Shashank Manohar has resigned to his post as International Cricket Board (ICC) Chairman, today on 15th March 2017. His resignation was accepted immediately. He took ICC Chairman role in May 2016. To become the Chairman of ICC, he had to resign for BCCI President post. In fact he had to be in two years for this Chairman post, but all of sudden today he resigned his post.
Shashank Manohar resigned for ICC Chairman
The ICC Board Chairman Shashank Manohar has stepped down out of this post today. The exact reasons for resignation is not known. It is to be noted that it is sudden surprise for cricket viewers that after they refused to take an action against Steve Smith, Australian Captian on brain Fade issue in the Banglore test. Jaideep Ghosh an official member of ICCI, on Twitter handle as tweeted this news aying that Shashank has stepped down. Also, it is to be noted that the resignation was accpedte immeditately.
Shashank Manohar took his job as Chairman as ICC Board after N Srinivasan was forcefully steeped down due to match fixing allegations. The resignation letter of Mr. Manohar was sent to ICC CEO Dave Richardson.
Mr Manohar has tweeted that he has tried his level best to be impartial in deciding and functional of the board in all matters in support of every board member.
He added, he will not able to work on his post anymore due to personal issues and also his resgination will effect immediately. Mr Manohar added “I take this opportunity to thank all the Directors, the Management and staff of ICC for supporting me wholeheartedly. I wish ICC all the very best and hope it achieves greater heights in future.”
Manohar worked as BCCI Board president for more than three years. He is a well known and prominent advocate. With this action, the ICC Chairman post is vacant.
